Horticulture Export Business Unit

We serve as the tie between our sister companies (Agrokorra Co. and Agrofresh) and the international markets. We export our sister company’s four main products, strawberry, Grapes, Peaches and Mango to Europe and other countries.

We have our own packing facilities on our plantation which allows us to export our products properly and freshly.  Consukorra owns several horticulture farms in various desert locations throughout Egypt; those farms extend from Aswan (Upper Egypt) till Nobaria (150 km from Cairo).

Establishing our farms in various locations throughout Egypt led to the advantage of having the longest harvest season for the same crop. For example; we harvest the white seedless grapes from Wadi El Nokkra farm (Aswan) from late April till early May, from Koum Osheim farm (Fayoum) in mid May, from Sadat City Farm in early June and from Nobariya Farm in mid June, allowing us to have a harvest period of almost 2 months.

Awards and Certifications

In recognition to our quality products, logistical services and ethical trading standards, Consukorra has been awarded various certificates such as:

  • GLOBALGAP: We are GLOBALGAP certified by CMI (for grapes, strawberry & peaches). The certificate is a confirmation for the good agriculture practices that we abide by.
  • Tesco’s Nurture Choice – Gold level: Consukorra has obtained Tesco’s Nature choice (Gold level) for our three products grapes, strawberries & peaches. The certificate is for our compliance with the  European retail requirements.

Certificate for being socially responsible:
  • SGS Sedex: Consukorra have passed the Ethical trading initiative requirement by SGS which ensures that ethical performances are applied in the supply chain.
Our drastic increase in quantities exported to our partners in Europe (especially in the UK and Netherlands) each year is a proof of our determination to strengthen our partnership with them. We professionally execute all agreed programs with our partners/importers with respect to quantities, product specifications, packaging and delivery time.

We are always ultimately committed to provide the highest quality standards to our partners.
Our products are supplied to the largest international supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury, & Waitrose. Tesco, being our company’s greatest partner, gives us the opportunity to export strawberries through Berryworld, Grapes through Grape Direct and Peaches through DPS.

We are continually experimenting new varieties for continuous improvements; such as viva and fortuna varieties for strawberry. Also breeding trials and programs are ongoing between us and several experts in Europe and other countries respectively.

Our Team has a quality control system that monitors the entire process from harvesting, packaging and delivering as well as ensures that the product complies with fruit specs and system requirements at the packaging house. Having a pre-cooling and packing facility on the farm, ensures and guarantees that the best quality of fruit is being delivered.

We are always seeking long term and mutually profitable relationship with new partners in Europe.
